Have you been bit by the underconsumption core ? Me too. I haven’t bought new clothes in two years that weren’t hiking related.
However, I’m now in the market for two items I can add to my wardrobe for the long haul. Pieces that are work appropriate, casual and can be dressed up or down.
It is important to me to make sustainable choices but also to build a lasting wardrobe that represents me. Currently, it is full of hand me downs from my mom and people who know I can’t say no to a bag of discarded clothes.
But, I am turning over a new leaf.
These are not items I would have picked for myself and I don’t feel excited to wear them. So, I hypothesize when I find clothes that speak to me I will not be tempted to take in other articles because I have what I want and love.
I’m ready to feel GREAT and INTENTIONAL this Fall!
If you find yourself as obsessed with these items as me, please consider using my link as I will get a small commission as an Amazon Affiliate.
Corduory is a classic in my book! I had a brown Corduroy jacket in high school that I loved and could wear with many outfits. The Pokemon graphic tee and brown Corduroy jacket may have been questionable, but I had to push the envelope in my angst. Sadly, my jacket shrunk or my shoulders got wider.
Regardless, I am ready to jump back into my Corduroy spirit. Here is the jacket and how I plan to style it:
- Dress it up for a formal event with gold jewelry and a floral dress underneath
- Turtleneck sweater under, Corduroy over! WARM and STYLISH.
Interrupting this bullet point list to say I have the urge to book a flight to Paris with how cute my hypothetical outfit plans are!
- Striped, long sleeve brown tone shirt with a flat cap. OMG! Casual, classic, a compelling author on their afternoon stroll vibes.
- Seriously it can go with anything.
P.S. They have a cobalt blue option and if I didn’t have my decluttering goal set, I would have bought both.
I have ALWAYS wanted a Penny Loafer and somehow have never bought one. Their spell on me has not faded which is a good indication that it will be a long term and well loved addition to my wardrobe.
The Penny Loafer meets my criteria that
I don’t already have something similar. I can wear it to work or outside in my “real” life. It can be dressed up or down and I am fulfilling a long time moodboard item.
Whatever you add to your Fall Wardrobe, I hope you are over-the-moon excited to wear it and feel as beautiful as you are.
Best,
